The BLM’s Southeastern States Field Office in Mississippi annually partners with Copiah County and several other state and Federal agencies to spend a day outdoors with inquisitive students.

On April 2, fifth grade classes from all over Copiah County rotated through activities to learn by seeing, hearing and touching.

BLM’s wild horse “Jack” was popular with the students, many who had never seen a horse up close, much less touched one. Jack was a great ambassador and allowed everyone a chance to pet him and to learn about horse confirmation.
