    How cool are the giant green anemones in the tidepools near the Trinidad Gateway of the California Coastal National Monument? These amazing creatures live up to 50 years and get their green color from a symbiotic green algae that lives in their tissues and provides nutrients. They also obtain nutrients by feeding on small fish detached mussels and other prey by stinging them with their tentacles.
