Did you know that the Wyoming’s State Flower is Wyoming Indian Paintbrush, Castilleja linariifolia? This cool plant is a partial parasite. Wait, What? Yes, plants can be parasites just like worms and other creatures that feed off other host animals. The special roots of paintbrush species can attach to the roots of other plant species such as grasses and sagebrush in order to take advantage of water and minerals from the host plant.
